Registration Closes on August 21
The reopened registration period is brief. It ends at 8 PM on August 21.
Payment, however, does not close at the same time. Registered candidates get until 10 PM to pay the fee. Document upload and submission can be completed up to 11:59 PM.
So there are three deadlines to remember on August 21:
-
Registration: 8 PM
-
Fee payment: 10 PM
-
Document submission: 11:59 PM
Anyone registering on the last day needs to keep these separate timings in mind.
Provisional Merit List on August 23
The revised provisional merit list will be available on August 23.
Once it is out, check the details mentioned against your application. If there is a mistake that needs correction, the grievance period is open until 5 PM on August 24.
The final merit list comes the following day, August 25.
The seat matrix is also due on August 25. This will be particularly useful before preference filling, as students will be able to see the seats available for the round.

CAP Round 1 Choice Filling From August 26
College preference filling begins on August 26.
The window stays open till 5:30 PM on August 29.
This part needs some planning. Put colleges in the order in which you would actually prefer to join them. Before making the final list, it is worth checking the fee, location, college type and available seats.
A long list is not necessarily a good list if the colleges have been added without checking them first.
Round 1 Seat Allotment on August 30
The result of CAP Round 1 is due on August 30, 2026.
For those who get a seat, the next step begins almost immediately. Physical reporting starts on August 31 and continues till September 4 at 5:30 PM.
Original documents and the required admission fee documents will be needed at the allotted college. Keeping them ready before August 30 can make the reporting process easier.

Check the Document Submission Status
There is an important point about uploaded documents.
After uploading the files, make sure the Submit option has also been used. An uploaded file left without final submission may leave the application incomplete.
It takes only a minute to check the application status after finishing this step. Do that before closing the portal.
Why Did Maharashtra Change the Round 1 Dates?
The state timetable was changed following an extension in the All India Quota counselling schedule handled by the Medical Counselling Committee.
Maharashtra has adjusted its CAP Round 1 calendar accordingly.
This is why registration has been reopened and the merit list, choice filling and allotment dates have also shifted.
What Happens Next?
For students still at the registration stage, August 21 is the first deadline to deal with.
After that, the sequence is straightforward:
-
Revised provisional merit list on August 23
-
Grievance deadline on August 24
-
Final merit list and seat matrix on August 25
-
Choice filling from August 26
-
Choice filling closes on August 29
-
Round 1 allotment on August 30
-
College reporting from August 31
The final reporting date for this round is September 4, 2026.
Final Thoughts
For now, students who have not finished registration need to concentrate on the August 21 deadline. Remember that registration, payment and document submission close at different times that day.
The next important date is August 23 for the provisional merit list. The final merit list comes on August 25, preferences begin on August 26 and CAP Round 1 allotment follows on August 30.
Since the schedule has already been revised, students should check the official Maharashtra counselling portal before acting on any dates saved from an earlier notice.
