NEET 2024 Counseling Round 1 Seat Resignation Window
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) opened the NEET 2024 counselling Round 1 seat resignation window on August 31, 2024. The last date to resign seats is September 3, 2024 6 pm. Candidates who were assigned seats in round 1 of NEET UG 2024 counselling on August 25, 2024 and have finished their reports can leave or surrender the allocated seats to prevent loss of the security deposit.
MCC stated in declaring the same "Reference to demands of applicants who were allocated seats through state-sponsored counseling and are now wishing to withdraw from their Round-1 seat which was arranged by MCC. The candidates in question are able to resign their Round-1 seats within the period from 02:00 P.M. of 31.08.2024 up to the time of 06:00 P.M. without the forfeiture of their Security Deposit, at which point it will count to be Round 2 and the identical rules will be applied on the same basis as to Round 2 of counseling.

Candidates must follow the steps below to Resign NEET 2024 Counselling Seats for Round 1:
- Visit the NEET counselling website - mcc.nic.in/ug-medical-counselling/
- Click on the New Registration 2024 tab under the Candidate Activity Board
- Login using your registration credentials for NEET 2024 Round 1 counseling
- Select the Seat Resignation link
- Confirm and resign your seat
- Click save
- Save and print the confirmation of your seat until you're admitted to a state-quota seat
Candidates are advised to ensure that their Resignation Letter is generated online (through portal provided by MCC) by the assigned college, failing which the resignation will be treated as 'Null & Void'," MCC has said.
Starting on September 5 2024, the NEET 2024 counseling session for round 2 will start the application process. Those who wish to convert their Indian nationality to NRI can do so till at 10 am on September 3, 2024.

Q.2. What does free exit in round 1 mean?
Answer: In Round 1 of MCC Counselling, a "free exit" allows you to opt not to report to the designated college should you decide to stop using the allocated seat, therefore avoiding any penalty. You can still take part in next counseling rounds without forfeiting your security deposit.
Q.3. How do I withdraw my resignation notice?
Answer: Once you sent a resignation notice to MCC Counseling, it cannot be taken back. Resigning your seat is a last choice, hence you should be sure before starting the resignation procedure.
