NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund Deadline Extended Till June 22, NTA Reopens Bank Detail, Submission Window

Students who haven't completed NEET UG 2026 fee refund process have another opportunity. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline to submit bank account details. They allow applicants to make changes to their account information until June 22nd 2026.

The portal was previously accessible only until the 27th of May. But, following a significant number of requests as well as pending applications, NTA decided to keep the portal operational for a longer time. The new deadline allows students extra time to finish the application without having to rush at the last minute.

The NTA has confirmed that the link to refund will be active until 11:50 pm on June 22, at which point the facility will close.

NTA Announces Fresh Deadline for NEET Refund Process

The latest notice issued by NTA on May 27 confirmed that candidates can continue submitting their bank account information through the official NEET portal.

The refund facility was first opened on May 22 and was originally scheduled to close on May 27. In the time that followed, thousands of students were able to complete their refund successfully. Some students didn't meet the deadline, or did not complete their application due to insufficient details.

In order to accommodate students with disabilities, the agency has extended the deadline for submissions.

Revised Schedule

Event Date
Refund Facility Started May 22, 2026
Earlier Last Date May 27, 2026
Revised Last Date June 22, 2026
Closing Time 11:50 PM

Around 13 Lakh Students Have Already Submitted Their Details

According to NTA, nearly 13 lakh candidates have already updated their preferred bank account information.

This indicates that a majority of eligible candidates have completed the process. The extension is targeted at helping candidates whose application is in the process of being processed.

Candidates who have filled in the correct information do not have to fill in a new form unless an additional communication is received by NTA.

Who Needs to Complete the Refund Process?

The extended window is useful for candidates who:

  • Have not submitted bank details yet
  • Left the process incomplete
  • Missed the earlier deadline
  • Need to verify their banking information before submission

Students who have already completed the process successfully can simply keep the confirmation page for future reference.

Check Bank Details Carefully Before Submission

Most refund-related issues usually happen because of simple mistakes.

Students should verify:

  • Account number
  • IFSC code
  • Account holder name
  • Bank branch information

before clicking the submit button.

A minor error in typing can result in delays in processing or a failed transaction in the future.

Why Was the Refund Process Started?

The refund facility is linked to developments surrounding the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3.

Following subsequent decisions and updates related to the examination, NTA initiated a refund mechanism through the official portal and asked eligible candidates to submit their preferred bank account details.

The agency is now collecting verified banking information before beginning the refund transfer process.

What Happens After Submission?

Once candidates complete the process, the submitted information is reviewed and verified.

After verification:

  • Refund requests are processed
  • Banking details are matched
  • The amount approved is credited directly to the account that is registered

Students are encouraged to keep monitoring their email addresses and official notifications for any new updates.

Don't Wait Till June 22

While NTA has extended the deadline the candidates should be wary of putting off their application until the last day.

Traffic on websites typically rises when deadlines are near late submissions may occasionally cause unnecessary problems.

Completing the process early ensures that students have enough time to review details and correct mistakes if required.
