NEET UG 2026 Result Out: What Your Score Means and What to Do Next

The wait is over.

NTA declared the NEET UG 2026 result on July 16, 2026. If you appeared for the exam this year, your scorecard is now live at neet.nta.nic.in.

Before you do anything else — download it, save it, print it. You will need it at every step of counselling.

NEET UG 2026 - The Numbers First

Nearly 20 lakh students sat for NEET UG 2026. Out of those, 11.21 lakh have qualified - meaning they crossed the category-wise cut off and are now eligible for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, B.Sc Nursing, and BVSc admissions.

The toppers this year are Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana both scored 715 out of 720, jointly topping the exam.

A few numbers worth knowing:

• 19 students scored above 700
• 138 students scored 690 or above
• 1,492 students crossed 650
• 10,160 students crossed 600
• More than 58% of all qualified candidates are women this year

How to Download Your NEET UG 2026 Scorecard

Go to neet.nta.nic.in and follow these steps:

1. Click on NEET UG 2026 Result
2. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth
3. Enter the Security Pin shown on screen
4. Click Submit
5. Your scorecard will appear — download it and save a printed copy

Check every detail on the scorecard carefully — name, roll number, subject-wise marks, AIR, category rank, and qualifying status. If anything looks wrong, contact NTA immediately. Do not wait.

NEET UG 2026 Cut Off - Category Wise

NTA has released category-wise qualifying cut offs along with the result. Students who meet the cut off are eligible for:

• MCC All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling
• State Medical Counselling (Rajasthan State Quota)
• AIIMS and JIPMER admissions
• Central and Deemed University seats
• AYUSH courses through AACCC counselling

The number of qualified candidates by category:

• General: 2.91 lakh
• OBC-NCL: 5.12 lakh
• SC: 1.59 lakh
• ST: 63,716
• Gen-EWS: 95,026

What Happens After NEET UG 2026 Result?

This is where most students lose marks they already earned — by not being ready for counselling.

Here is the sequence:

Step 1 — Download and verify your scorecard from neet.nta.nic.in

Step 2 — Check your AIR and category rank. Use the CLC Rank Predictor at clcsikar.com to estimate which colleges you can target based on your score and rank.

Step 3 — Register for MCC counselling at mcc.nic.in for All India Quota seats (AIQ). This covers 15% of government college seats across India, plus all AIIMS and JIPMER seats.

Step 4 — Register separately for Rajasthan State Counselling for state quota seats (85% of government college seats in Rajasthan).

Step 5 — Fill your college preferences carefully. Lock your choices before the deadline.

Step 6 — Attend document verification at your allotted college within the timeline given.

Missing any deadline in this process means losing a seat you already earned with your marks. Keep checking mcc.nic.in and the official Rajasthan counselling portal for dates.

Did Not Qualify This Year? Read This.

If your score did not cross the cut off — or you qualified but your rank is not where you wanted it — this is not the end.
