NEET Counseling Process
The NEET UG 2024 Guidance Program for qualified applicants under 15% The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), acting on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), will conduct interviews for admission to MBBS and BDS courses for all India Quota seats, all Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of ESIC & AFMC, including Delhi University (DU), BHU & AMU.
These interviews are scheduled to take place in the second week of June. Counseling for admission to seats controlled by other States, Universities, or Institutions will take place in accordance with the announcements that the relevant authorities have released separately.
The candidates' claimed merit lists in each category, as submitted when they applied for admission or counseling, shall be compiled by the admitting/counseling authorities.
Counseling for All Seats in the 15% All India Quota and Under 15% All India Quota and all seats in Central Institutions, Including AFMC, ESI, Delhi University (DU), BHU & AMU, and Deemed Universities.
Counseling for seats other than 15%: All India Seats Candidates wishing to apply for admission in State Medical Colleges/ Universities/Institutions using the merit list of NEET (UG) – 2024 shall follow the instructions of the State Government and authorities of the Medical/Dental colleges/Institution/University concerned for counseling.
Counseling for Private Medical Colleges (except Deemed) will be with the respective State Governments. The admitting/counseling authorities will draw a merit list of the candidates in the respective categories declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counseling.
The NTA will not make any change in candidates' data after the opportunity for the same is closed. In no case, the change of data submitted by the Candidate in the online Application Form shall be made by NTA after the declaration of the result.
The categories of the candidates have been obtained based on the Central Category List in the application form. Candidates will register for counseling based on their eligibility by providing the category based on the State category list, and the concerned Counselling will prepare a merit list accordingly.
The domicile criteria would be as per the State concerned, and NTA has no role in it. During counseling, the eligibility criteria, self-declaration, various documents, etc., of the eligible candidates shall be verified in accordance with the guidelines specified by the relevant authorities and Medical/Dental Colleges.
Note: All medical colleges in India, with the exception of AIIMS and JIPMER institutions, will accept admissions on the NEET 2024 score system.
