JoSAA 2026 Counselling Registration is available at josaa.nic.in. The registration link was enabled on June 2, 2026, at 5:00 PM IST by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). IITs, NITs, IIITs, IISc, IIEST and other GFTIs admission process begins by this date. Only candidates who qualified JEE Main 2026 or JEE Advanced 2026 are eligible to this process. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for JoSAA 2026, candidates must meet one or more of the criteria mentioned below:

  1. Be qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2026 and be eligible for the IITs / IISc.

  2. Have a valid rank in JEE (Main) 2026 and be eligible for the NITs, IIITs, IIEST and other GFTIs.

  3. Qualify Class XII (or equivalent) as per the prescribed requirements of the participating institutes.

Admission will not be granted by just qualifying in JEE Main or JEE Advanced. Other eligibility criteria, as set by the respective institutes, must be fulfilled by the candidates as

How to Complete JoSAA 2026 Registration

  5. Initiate the choice-filling process — enter and arrange preferred institutes and courses
  6. Edit, add, or rearrange choices multiple times before the deadline
  7. Lock choices before the final deadline (unlocked choices may be auto-locked after deadline)
  8. Regularly log in to check seat allotment status after each round

Rules for Choice Filling

  • Post-registration, the following fields can no longer be amended: name, parent’s name, and birth category

  • Candidates can edit, add, and rearrange choices any number of times until they are locked

  • Manually unlocked choices will be automatically locked after the deadline

  • Candidates must frequently log in to the portal to check allotment

  • Filling of choices must be completed on/before the deadline as no extensions will be provided

  • The JoSAA 2026 mock seat allotment will be available on the official website on June 8, 2026

  • The purpose of the mock allotment is to give candidates an indication of their likely seat allotment prior to the actual allotments
